4 mm Cotton Escape Cord – 100 m Spool

320,-

Out of stock
Cotton thread 4mm approx 500gr. For professional fishermen only.   When fishing lines and other fishing gear are lost at sea, they often do not stop fishing immediately. Solid metal lines and synthetic net/rope products are almost eternal and so-called ghost fishing is a major environmental problem. It is now a requirement that all lines must be equipped with a rot-proof wire. For hobby fishermen, this must be a maximum of 3mm, for professional fishermen a maximum of 4mm. If you already have pots equipped with rotting wire, it is important that this is replaced after a few weeks to ensure a successful catch. How does rotting wire work? Rotting thread is made of cotton, which after a certain time will dissolve in contact with water. By making a hole in the tub of 20-40cm and then sewing the opening together with cotton thread, this will eventually rot and leave an opening through which fish and shellfish can escape. Make sure to check the rotting thread at regular intervals, so that the tools function properly when you use them. Rotting thread lying in the sea will normally disintegrate after 6-7 weeks. On gear that is actively used, the rotting thread can last a long time, as the decay stops when the thread dries. Can also be used on nets and other fishing gear.   Spool of approx. 500gr (approx. 100m).   NB! 4mm line is only allowed for professional fishermen!
