Information
DRAUG is a "slow pitch" jig. This means that you bring the jig to life with short, controlled lifts. During the pauses, it works downwards by casting widely and vibrating, which imitates a wounded prey fish. This technique is particularly effective on species such as cod, halibut, pollack and saithe. Often the fish bite as the jig drops down after the lift.
The jig is made of zinc and is therefore 100% lead-free. DRAUG comes with sharp BKK Hooks, which are also highly resistant to saltwater corrosion.
DRAUG pairs particularly well with a rod from the GUNGNE series. You can also change the hook and try an assist hook from BKK Hooks.
How to fish with DRAUG:
1. Release the jig to the bottom, or to the desired depth if you see the fish on the sonar.
2. Lift the rod tip in a controlled manner, preferably only a quarter to half a rod length. Do not jerk hard, but give a firm and precise lift to set the jig in motion.
3. Then let the jig fall freely. Keep a close eye on the line, the strokes can be careful.
4. Repeat in the same rhythm: lift, let fall, lift let fall...
5. Remember to vary your pace. If the fish are slow, it may be a good idea to use slow and moderate lifts. If the fish are more active, try faster and more frequent lifts.
This is what the color abbreviations on DRAUG mean:
HGM = Holo Green Mackerel
HPM = Holo Pink Mackerel
BSP = Blue Silver Pink
NH = Natural Herring
BBH = Brown Black Dot Holo
HBDB = Holo Black Dot Blue
